Comprehensive Plan

HHS Teaching and Learning Improvement Plan

GOAL(S): 1. 80% students will demonstrate growth in math and ELA as measured by WY state assessments (WyTOPP and ACT).

  1. School climate and culture will improve, specifically in the area of students helping other students as measured by the required climate survey for all Wyoming alternative schools

MEASURES AND METHODS (INTERVENTIONS):

Intervention #1: Teachers will serve as mentors to help students collaborate and work with each other to increase positive behaviors.

Continue to refine and develop the “PLT” time with a focus on team building strategies and activities that provide students an opportunity to help each other

2017-18 school year

Principal, teachers

Fall and Spring climate survey ratings increase compared to 2016-17

Provide professional development related to PBIS- setting school-wide norms, teaching them and following them.

2017-18 school year

Principal, teachers, assistance from WDE PBIS consultants and district PBIS staff

-A team of teachers receive training from WDE PBIS consultant

- All teachers receive training on PBIS from staff twice a month

Evaluation/Evidence (How will you know when the intervention is fully implemented?)

  • Discipline referrals will decrease
  • School climate survey data will improve

Intervention #2: Students will demonstrate growth in Math and English Language Arts

All teachers will turn in weekly lesson plans aligned to state standards

2017-18 school year

Teachers

·         All teachers will have at least some level of Marzano HRS know and training by the end of the year

·         Plans are submitted weekly- by the end of the year their entire courses are mapped out, aligned to the Wyoming standards

All teachers will document weekly formative assessments and they will complete two to three summative with students each quarter.

2017-18

Teachers

·         All assessments are aligned to the Wyoming state standards

·         Teachers are able to link the assessments to standards assessed on WyTopp

·         Assessments aligned to standards for the entire year are completed

 

 

Allow students to use their course credit data to set goals around the course they need to complete in order to meet graduation requirements

2017-18 school year

Principal, students, teachers

-Give students their data and explain it to them

-Review Goal setting process

Evaluation/Evidence (How will you know when the intervention is fully implemented?)

-When students have all completed a WDE SPP and consistently review it at quarterly intervals

-Assessments for an entire course are clearly aligned to standards and mapped out

-Instruction and assessment links clearly to areas in needed of improvement on WyTopp

-Student state assessment scores show growth from on year to the next
