After 7 years, Principal Shad Hamilton is leaving Horizon High School to take a position closer to his family.
As he moves on to the next chapter in his life, I asked him to share some insight into his time at Horizon. Here's a glimpse into his experience:
Among many memorable moments, Swayze's talent shows were up at the top.
Horizon consistently showed him that a big heart, patience, love, and humor go a loooooong way. (Working with teens will teach you that!)
Mr. Hamilton loves the outdoors and got to share that with our students on our yearly Bald Mountain Hiking trip. During the Covid shutdown he also enjoyed running the online school from his cabin in the Wind Rivers (pictured).
Mr. Hamilton is leaving a lasting legacy on Horizon - including but not limited to our major progress with High Reliability Schools Levels 1 & 2; our achievement of recognition as a Model PLC School; and creating a roster of teachers and staff who care deeply about the education and well-being of our students, every day.
